Control room

A control room needs to be ergonomic and must translate to the outside world. We recently did a complete overhaul of this room, with a lot of customizations and fine tuning the details. It's a lot to cover, could not possibly do it within a few lines, but we suggest that you get annoying and keep asking us questions about it. We're happy to discuss about it, as we spend a lot of time in it. We're proud of this room.

Live room

Our iconic live room! It sounds tight but not boring and flexible enough for most situations. Musicians love it, they like the energy of this room. They get inspired, which gets us inspired. It's big enough to accomodate a small orchestra. If there's a nuclear explosion, this is the room to be in. It cannot go down, as it's built with a special reinforced concrete, and everything in here floats.

Hall

We didn't even plan for this to be a recording space. But we (nuturally) set up a drum set and did a recording test. Drums sounded so gigantic that we had to find a way to use it, so we applied the proper insulation and i/o boxes. There you go! An *explosive* drum room!

Booth

A room big enough to accomodate a small drum set, for "that" sound, it's ideal for extremely dry recordings. Vocals, voice overs, guitar cabs. Singers enjoy it a lot. They must feel isolated enough so it's like signing in the shower, I suppose.

Recording

The key to a good sounding record.

Our rooms can handle everything, from super-tight dry recordings to large rock drums. Backline is available, including several drum sets, cymbals, guitar amps & cabs etc. Personal mixers for monitoring are available for each performer.

Preparation is required depending on the instrument and the method of recording. We do overdubbing, live recording & re-amping.

Mixing

Adding a frame to a picture can make it or brake it.

Mixing is technical but is also taste and creativity. A mixer's job is to align with the needs of the song and get the best out of it. As with everything in audio, acoustics play a key role for mixing. There's no way around it, and this is what compelled us to give as much weight to the monitoring of our control room.

We do not limit the number of revisions. A mix is done when it's done, and the devil is in the details.

Mastering

You shouldn't wait for the master for your songs to sound good. If that's the case, something went wrong in the previous steps.

That said, mastering can give an extra touch and also make it loud and competitive. Mastering could also save a bad mix when there's no other option. Mastering comprises of both audio processing and procedural work. It's very technical but can definitely include taste.

We master for streaming services, CD and vinyl.

Rehearsals

Yes, Bigfoot does rehearsals. We are not the typical rehearsal studio where everything just stays the same. Things tend to move around a lot in our Live Room; some time is needed to get things tailored to the needs of each session.

Personal headphone monitoring and a stereo recording is included.

Video & Live Sessions

While we do not provide in-house video services, our rooms are available for video shooting.

From time to time we also do live sessions, so if you're a band and you're kicking it, drop us a line to discuss your session. Anything from jazz to depressive suicidal black metal is welcome.

We partner up with ΝΑΠΑΝ Visual Arts Studio for our video needs.

Team

Tech-obsessed, Alex could nerd out for hours. He did play the drums once, but that was a very long time ago. He spends the most of his time in the studio these days. Despite his discomfiture with the thought of revealing his face here, he went ahead and did it.

Will always make it to a Slayer show.

Mike is an architect & engineer, and he's responsible for the level of design & development that the studio has. There's no Bigfoot without Mike.

He's way too busy building houses...but If it happens to meet him, just pick his brain.

Still waiting for that Gojira concert.

Alex is definitely included into the nerd subrealm.

He frequently spends hours in front of a computer attempting to improve a song. Aesthetics and production is where it clicks the most for him.

He competes with the other two guys on who's cuter, but you'll be the judge.
